A special programme gathering a comprehensive perspective on the fashion film practice made by African audio-visual and fashion authors. It has been produced by Estudio YOX in association with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Making Africa. A Continent of Contemporary Design’.
The programme is part of the first edition of ‘FASHION AND FILMS,’ an international exhibition dedicated to fashion audio-visuals committed to issues of social interest, such as development; ecology and sustainability; gender, culture, race, sexuality and ethnic identity and equality; non-stereotyped beauty, among others.
The diversity, creativity and quality of the African fashion film, together with its ability to intertwine aesthetics and claims, bear witness to the creative strength of the continent and its relation to a meaningful social and cultural commitment.
